Puppy
K/Beginnings 101 For Puppies 3-9 months of age Classes
are separated into the catagories of Small Breed and Large Breed Puppies. According
to the size and breed of puppy to ensure that the playtimes are fun for everyone.

Dog psychology: Helping you to understand how your pup views different situtations.
This enables you, the
owner, to teach new behaviors and to help prevent unfavorable behaviors from
devloping. "An OUNCE of
Prevention is worth a POUND of Cure"
A strong
"Foundation" of "Cue" words will enable your puppy to understand what
it is you expect of him/her.
"Cue" words also help the puppy understand when it is right.
Shaping new behaviors such as sitting politely to greet people and eliminating
behavioral problems such as jumping
up on visitors , excessive barking, biting,house soiling, chewing,
etc.
Attention
exercises: Getting your puppy to pay attention to you even though there are distractions
in the environment. Foundation
work to enable to to teach your dog to walk on leash without pulling.
Your dog will
learn to come on command.
Sit ,Down, Stand and Stay
with limted distractons. These skills enable easier handling of the puppy
for grooming or veterinary examinations. Playtime:
Allows the puppies to build lasting social skills through interaction with other
puppies as well as providing an outlet
for their energies. Also known to provide a laugh or two for the specatators.
Games are incorporated into the lessons in order for the owners and their puppies
to "enjoy" learning. Puppies
will also learn a few "tricks" to impress your visitors with their brilliance.
Say
Please...Turn...Weave...Play Dead..High Five or Shake a Paw & Speak
Using
continuous " positive motivational" reinforcement,
your puppies will learn at an accelerated rate. Puppies have bright
and inquiring minds which are like sponges.
Exposing them to new situtations and shaping their behaviors at an
early age, will influence them
throughout their lives.
